Warranty Policy

Limited Manufactures Warranty

 

1/ The product is guaranteed against defects in materials and/or workmanship, under normal use for a period of 36 months from the date of purchase or 100,000 KM whichever occurs first. Auto Electrical Spares Ltd will at its discretion, repair or replace the defective product free of charge if the purchaser notifies Auto Electrical Spares Ltd within the warranty period.

2/ Auto Electrical Spares Ltd will not be liable for consequential loss or damage in any circumstances, except as otherwise provided by law. The warranty is invalid if the product has been misused, abused or used in a nonstandard application for which it was not designed.

3/ Auto Electrical Spares Ltd will not be liable to replace any part which has been altered, defaced, modified or treated in such a way the company finds unacceptable.

4/ It is the installers responsibly to ensure the correct unit has been correctly installed and is functioning properly before releasing the vehicle.

NOTE IMPORTANT - Any potential claim must be discussed and action agreed with Auto Electrical Spares Ltd before any further actions are implemented. Call 09 838 6700 first quoting invoice number and purchase date.

Auto Electrical Spares Ltd (refer clause 2) will take no responsibility for actions initiated by customers regarding any potential claim without their prior agreement.

Listed below are specific common Starter failures that are not a manufacturing defect and are not covered under Auto Electrical Spares Ltd warranty policy:

  •  Burnt out or Hung up starters

 

  • Excessive cranking

 

  • Malicious destruction

 

  • Contamination – foreign bodies or liquids having penetrated the unit causing failure.

 

  • Broken nose cones, brackets, pinions etc – broken components on starters are rarely caused by manufacturing defects. Generally these structural failures are caused by engine backfire, crash starting or starter loose on mounting bolts, starting vehicle in gear.

 

5/ Fitter beware - Once a starter or alternator has been supplied AES have no further control over the fitment, application and or verification of its performance. We refer you to this specific clause in our warranty It is the installers responsibly to ensure the correct unit has been supplied, correctly installed and is functioning properly before releasing the vehicle).
